River Holme
River levels have fallen following yesterday’s heavy and persistent rainfall. Further rain is expected today, Tuesday 1/10/24. Whilst rivers may respond to this, we are not expecting levels to rise significantly. We are closely monitoring the situation.
Surface water may continue to affect low spots on roads. Please take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Areas most at risk are low-lying land and roads near rivers. Avoid using low-lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.

Rising river levels throughout the evening, as a result of persistent rainfall, may lead to flooding.
Levels are expected to peak around 9pm and decrease across tomorrow, Tuesday the 1st of October.
Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible.
Surface Water flooding may be possible.
Weather conditions are expected to improve overnight and into tomorrow morning and no further significant rainfall is expected over the coming days.
We are closely monitoring the situation and monitoring rainfall and river levels.

River levels remain high on the River Holme today, 22/02/2024, due to overnight rainfall. Areas most at risk include the River Holme from Holmbridge, to the River Colne, including New Mill Dike, Meltham Dike and their tributaries. Flooding is possible at the River Holme from Holmbridge, to the River Colne, including New Mill Dike, Meltham Dike and their tributaries, until approximately 17:00 today, 22/02/2024. Levels are expected to have peaked this morning. We will continue to monitor levels and the forecast closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Areas most at risk include the River Holme from Holmbridge, to the River Colne, including New Mill Dike, Meltham Dike and their tributaries. River levels on the River Holme have fallen after last nights rain, but are expected to increase once again following another band of rain forecast for tonight, 10/12/2023. We expect to see similar or a little lower to those reached last night, 9/12/2023. Therefore, this Flood Alert remains in force. Areas most at risk include River Holme from Holmbridge to the River Colne, including New Mill Dike, Meltham Dike and their tributaries.
Levels are expected to rise again at around 08:00 PM tonight, 10/12/2023, with a peak in Huddersfield around 1:00 to 2:00 AM on Monday morning. We will continue to monitor rainfall and river levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Last night’s rain has cleared the catchment and levels are now dropping on the River Holme. There are further bands of rain forecast mid-morning and this evening, which will see levels increase again reaching similar levels to yesterday. Therefore this Flood Alert remains in force. Areas most at risk include River Holme from Holmbridge to the River Colne, including New Mill Dike, Meltham Dike and their tributaries. We will continue to monitor rainfall and river levels closely. River levels are rising due to further heavy rain affecting the River Holme catchment .
Areas most at risk include River Holme from Holmbridge to the River Colne, including New Mill Dike, Meltham Dike and their tributaries.
Flooding is possible from around 8pm Saturday evening into the early hours of Sunday. Levels are currently expected to peak through Huddersfield around 11pm. Further unsettled weather is expected throughout the rest of the weekend.
We will continue to monitor rainfall and river levels closely.

River levels are forecast to rise on the River Holme due to heavy rainfall. Areas most at risk include the River Holme from Holmbridge to the River Colne, including New Mill Dike, Meltham Dike and their tributaries.
Flooding of low-lying land near watercourses is possible from Friday morning, 20th October 2023.
Further heavy rainfall is forecast throughout the weekend and river levels are expected to continue to rise. Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring rainfall and river levels.

This flood alert has been issued as river levels are starting to rise following persistent rain over the weekend. Further spells of heavy rain are expected through into the early hours of Monday 24th July, may lead to the local becks rising again for a while before starting to fall overnight as the rain finally moves away southwards. This could lead to some localised surface water flooding. We are closely monitoring the situation.

This flood alert has been issued as river levels are starting to rise following persistent rain over the weekend. Further spells of heavy rain this evening, Sunday 23rd July 2023, may lead to the watercourses continuing to rise, before starting to fall overnight tonight / early tomorrow morning as the rain finally moves away southwards. This could lead to some localised surface water flooding. We are closely monitoring the situation.
